Hyvinkää plane crash kills 71-year-old man

A 71-year-old man died when a two-seater electric aircraft crashed in Hyvinkää on Monday evening, Finnish police said on Tuesday.

The sole survivor, a 48-year-old man, remains in serious condition. Police have not determined whether the deceased or the injured man was at the controls at the time of impact.

The Pipistrel Alpha Electro aircraft, fully electric, descended vertically into terrain. Both occupants had prior experience flying the same aircraft type, according to preliminary information.
