Pokémon shop installs cameras in every corner: ‘Necessary measures’

An Aarhus-based Pokémon card shop has installed cameras throughout its premises after repeated thefts of high-value collectibles.

The store, &Cards, reported losses of graded Pokémon cards worth 200,000 Danish kroner last year alone. The thefts occurred both during and outside business hours, prompting the owners to invest in roll-down shutters, security cameras, and glass display cases to reduce the risk of further incidents.

“It’s frustrating, but necessary,” said a co-owner. “We have to protect our inventory.”
