Faroe Islands
The Faroese prime minister, the Greenlandic premier and the Danish justice minister will hold an informal meeting in Greenland in early September, the Danish government announced on Tuesday.
The meeting, known as the Ríksfelagsskapurin, was originally planned for June but was postponed after parliamentary elections in both the Faroe Islands and Greenland this spring.
The Nordic Council of Ministers will also convene in Greenland during the same visit. Established in 2021, the council addresses foreign policy, security and defence issues among the three realms of the Kingdom of Denmark.
The Faroese delegation to the council includes Prime Minister Beinir Johannesen, former Prime Minister Aksel V. Johannesen and former Prime Minister Bárður á Steig Nielsen.
