Heatwaves linked to climate change, says meteorologist

Meteorologists say rising global temperatures are increasing the likelihood of extreme heat events across Europe.

Speaking to SVT, Sweden’s public broadcaster, meteorologist Nils Holmqvist said the connection between climate change and this summer’s record-breaking heatwaves “leans in that direction.”

Spain is bracing for a third heatwave this season, with temperatures expected to reach 45°C in some regions.
