G! festival concludes with overall satisfaction despite cancellations and waste issues

The director of the G! festival in the Faroe Islands expressed overall satisfaction with this year’s event despite multiple cancellations and post-festival waste concerns.

Sigvør Laksá, festival director, said the event met expectations despite last-minute cancellations including American performer Oliver Tree, whose slot in the closing night lineup was canceled. The Silent Disco event also did not proceed as planned, and organizers later confirmed that waste management issues were detected on festival grounds after the event concluded.

“Despite the cancellations, we are very satisfied with how the festival went,” Laksá said in a statement.
