The Finnish government will hold an extraordinary plenary session on Monday to address the Garden Helsinki project funding dispute, Yle reports.
The cabinet is expected to submit a statement to parliament on Tuesday regarding the conditional €35 million state grant awarded to the Garden Helsinki arena project last spring. Parliament will also cut short its summer recess to deliberate the matter.
Opposition parties have called for the emergency session, and Prime Minister Petteri Orpo of the National Coalition Party formally requested that the Speaker of Parliament convene the legislature.
