Police may oversee drug enforcement at G! festival

The Faroese police may take responsibility for drug enforcement at the G! music festival, according to Sigvør Laksá, director of the event. Laksá said organizers have not reported any drug-related incidents to police but acknowledged that festival staff did not intervene when substances were allegedly used on site.

A social media post by attendee Barbara Djurhuus criticized the lack of action by staff at festival tents. Laksá stated that festival security is not tasked with monitoring drug use and has not taken steps to address the issue. She suggested the recent incident may prompt stricter security measures and encouraged attendees to report suspicious activity to police.
