Fire breaks out in storage shed in Sørvágur

No injuries were reported after a large fire broke out in a storage shed in Sørvágur on Saturday afternoon, local emergency services confirmed.

The blaze, which started around midday, destroyed several adjacent properties. Residents evacuated the area on their own as flames spread, according to fire brigade commander Eystein í Løðu.

Airport operations at Sørvágur were temporarily disrupted by the fire, said airport manager Jákup Egholm Hansen. Firefighters remain at the scene attempting to contain the remaining hotspots.
