Faroese reject Sundalagsstevnan clash with G! festival

Residents in Sundalagið are refusing to let Sundalagsstevnan share the same weekend as the G! music festival, according to Elsa Samuelsen, chair of Hósvíkar Róðrarfelag.

“People here are deeply committed, so we don’t see it clearly that Sundalagsstevnan falls on the same weekend as G!,” Samuelsen said.

Sundalagsstevnan, organised by Hósvíkar Róðrarfelag and the local heritage group Varðin, will take place in Hósvík. The programme includes a race marking, art exhibition, bouncy castle at the school, evening outdoor cinema, pub quiz and dancing.
