Faroese fish exports rise by 1.3 billion krona

Faroese fish exports increased by 1.3 billion krona from June last year to May this year, according to figures from the Faroese statistics agency Hagstovan. Total exports during this period reached just over 10 billion krona, marking an 11.2 percent growth.
Export values rose for most fish species, though the value of feed and fishmeal declined. Salmon exports grew by 485 million krona, an 8.3 percent increase, with volumes rising by over 18,000 tons (18.3 percent).
Cod exports saw a sharp rise of nearly 336 million krona (28.6 percent), while exported volumes increased by about four percent.
