Faroe Islands and South Korea discuss closer trade ties

The Faroe Islands and South Korea are in talks to strengthen trade relations, with a focus on securing tariff exemptions for Faroese fish products and eventually negotiating a free trade agreement, according to Faroese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Fisheries Bárður á Steig Nielsen.

A South Korean delegation has visited the Faroese government offices, and the South Korean ambassador is now expected to visit the Faroe Islands. Officials from both countries have signed a declaration of intent to formalize cooperation.
