A regional bus veered off Viborgvej and overturned into a private garden in Læsten, between Randers and Viborg, on Thursday morning, according to Østjyllands Politi.
The bus, operated by Umove on Midttrafik’s route 62, carried one driver and two passengers. The driver and one passenger were taken to hospital for checks, but police reported no serious injuries.
Witnesses described hearing a loud crash as the bus left the road, shattering its windows before coming to rest in the garden of local resident Inger Jensen. She told DR she was watching television when she heard the impact and found around 20 people already gathered in her garden by the time she went outside.
Police received an emergency call at 08:15 and dispatched two patrols. Officers confirmed the incident was a single-vehicle accident with no other parties involved. The cause remains under investigation, with police examining witness statements and physical evidence such as brake marks.
Umove, the bus operator, arranged for recovery services to remove the vehicle. The company also reminded passengers, witnesses, or relatives that psychological support is available through crisis helplines.
This is the second Midttrafik bus incident this year. In January, two people died after two route buses collided head-on north of Aarhus. The driver of one bus was later charged with negligent homicide. Midttrafik declined to comment on the latest incident but stated they expect no disruption to other bus services.
