Wages in the Faroese bottom-fish fishery rose 45 percent from July 2025 to June 2026, according to figures from the national statistics office Hagstovan reported by public broadcaster KVF.

Over the past 12 months, 14 billion kroner in wages passed through the tax system, an increase of 6 percent—795 million kroner—compared with the previous year. The bottom-fish sector accounts for 30 percent of that growth.

The wage statistics cover only earnings subject to contemporary tax arrangements.
