A £1.5 billion first-phase data centre is now under construction in Seinäjoki, marking the largest single investment ever made in Finland by a British company, developer Pure DC says.
The 110 MW facility is the opening stage of a planned campus that could ultimately reach 550 MW. Pure DC reports the entire first-phase capacity is already pre-leased.
All required permits, grid connections, and a dedicated substation for the first building are in place. At peak, the first phase is expected to create 1,500 construction jobs.
Once complete, the Seinäjoki campus will rank among Europe’s largest data centre clusters designed for AI and high-performance computing, according to the company.
