Alma and Oscar top Denmark’s 2025 baby name list

Alma and Oscar were the most popular names for newborns in Denmark in 2025, according to figures released Tuesday by Danmarks Statistik.
Oscar retained the top spot for boys, while Alma rose from fourth place to first for girls. Emma, last year’s most popular name for girls, dropped to fifth.
The full top 10 lists for 2025 are as follows:
Girls
Alma, Sofia, Agnes, Nora, Emma, Frida, Ella, Karla, Freja, Olivia
Boys
Oscar, Karl, Alfred, Noah, August, Oliver, Theo, Viggo, William, Otto
Several names repeated from 2024, including Olivia, Nora, and Frida for girls, and William and Noah for boys.
