Finland’s spring salmonella outbreak has ended, the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) reported on Saturday.
Sixty-four cases were recorded, with 37 confirmed as the same bacterial strain. Ten people required hospital treatment, and two died within a month of falling ill; THL noted other illnesses may have contributed to the deaths.
A joint investigation by THL and other authorities traced the likely source to raw sprouts, which the Finnish Food Authority said are no longer on sale.
One additional case was reported in June.
