Ittoqqortoormiit residents plan protest against oil drilling
The remote East Greenland town of Ittoqqortoormiit, home to 300 people, has become the focus of a political debate after US-based Greenland Energy Company announced plans to begin oil drilling 50 km from the settlement.
Local opposition has grown, particularly after the company’s director, Robert Price, made an unannounced visit in June, DR’s Greenland correspondent Karoline Engelund reports.
