Viitasaari arson probe advances as police trace light-coloured vehicle

Police investigating a suspected arson at a Viitasaari apartment building have located a light-coloured vehicle sought in connection with the case, Yle reports.

The fire, now classified as aggravated criminal damage, broke out in the stairwell of a two-storey residential building on Haapaniementie on Friday. Authorities suspect it was deliberately set.

No injuries were reported, but the stairwell sustained severe damage and several apartments suffered smoke damage. At least 16 people were in the building at the time.
