Finland’s Security Intelligence Service (Supo) and the Finnish Defence Intelligence Agency have warned businesses of cyber espionage conducted by Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB).

The latest alert, issued Monday in a joint statement with the US National Security Agency and other Western intelligence agencies, states that Russian state cyber actors have persistently targeted poorly secured and vulnerable network devices.

Supo clarifies that the current threat primarily targets corporate network equipment, rather than the home routers it had previously warned about. The malicious activity is linked to the FSB’s 16th Center, also known by aliases such as Berserk Bear, Energetic Bear, Crouching Yeti, Dragonfly, Ghost Blizzard, and Static Tundra.

According to Supo, the FSB’s cyber operations are long-standing and have previously focused on critical infrastructure sectors, including energy and defense industries. The center has collaborated with Russia’s foreign and military intelligence services in past cyber campaigns.
