A severe thunderstorm on Sunday evening caused significant damage in Somero, Southwest Finland, with roads closed due to collapse risks and flooding in underpasses and building basements.
The local rescue service received around 70 calls, primarily for water damage to properties. No injuries were reported.
The most affected road was Turuntie, where heavy rain triggered collapses in several sections. The Finnish Traffic Management Agency advised drivers to use alternative routes. Parts of Lahdentie and road 2802 were also closed due to flooding.
