Police flooded with drunk and disorderly reports

Norwegian police received a flood of reports of drunk and disorderly conduct overnight as football fans celebrated and commiserated following Norway’s defeat to England.
Incidents were reported across the country, including in Bærum, Tromsø, Mo i Rana, Stavanger, Trondheim, and Vestvågøy, with fights, public intoxication, and vandalism among the offenses.
In Trondheim, a man was arrested after climbing onto the roof of Havet Arena and refusing to leave. Police also reported disturbances at Solsiden, where tables were overturned.
In Oslo’s Spikersuppa district, a person was struck in the head with a knuckleduster, and the suspect was apprehended. In Bergen, a drunk woman fell into the water at Bryggen while boarding a boat, and a man who tried to help her also ended up in the sea. Both were taken to a medical center for evaluation.
At the Riddu Riddu festival in Kåfjord, Troms, a person was reported for indecent exposure. Police have identified the suspect and are in contact with them, urging any victims or witnesses to come forward.
In Bodø, an extremely intoxicated man was found lying on a lawn but revived upon hearing Norway had taken the lead in the match and managed to take a taxi home.
Other incidents included a man in his 20s in Harstad smashing a glass over a woman’s head, a couple in Tromsø arrested after assaulting a bouncer and a police officer, and a bite injury reported in Mosjøen. In Bergen’s Zachariasbryggen, a man was arrested after biting multiple people during a fight; police used pepper spray to subdue him.
In Oppdal, a mass brawl outside a bar led to a person being restrained in handcuffs by a bouncer, who was also bitten. In Narvik, a man was reported for insulting police officers and gesturing obscenely at them.
At Kadettangen in Bærum, three people were involved in a fight, and the suspect was banned from the area for the night. In Bergen, a highly intoxicated teenager was removed from a World Cup tent, resisted orders to leave, and was placed in a drunk tank before being reported.
In another Bergen incident, a man walked into the road and physically attacked a passing motorcyclist before being knocked down.
