Oslo World Cup events delay entry due to storm warning
Organisers of multiple World Cup public viewing events in Oslo have postponed entry for Saturday evening’s Norway-England quarter-final because of a forecasted storm, Dagbladet reports.
The Norwegian Meteorological Institute has issued a yellow warning for heavy rain across parts of eastern Norway from 16:00 to 20:00.
Fotballfesten AS, which is hosting 22,000 fans at Frogner Stadion, announced on Saturday afternoon that gates would open at 19:00 instead of the planned 18:00. In a text message to ticket holders, the organiser cited lightning and thunder risks and urged attendees not to arrive before 19:00.
Oslo City Council’s event office also delayed entry to its Rådhusplassen screening, moving the start from 18:00 to 18:30. The Lekter’n bar in Oslo likewise postponed its doors to 19:00.
