Police investigate vandalism of telecom mast in Janakkala, Finland

The Hämeen police are continuing their investigation into the recent destruction of a telecom mast in Janakkala, which was brought down overnight from Saturday to Sunday last weekend. One of the supporting wires of the mast was severed during the incident.

This week, reports emerged about a similar mast being toppled in the vicinity of Janakkala 19 years ago. In a statement released on Friday afternoon, the police indicated that they currently have no information suggesting that these two incidents may be linked.

The site of the collapsed mast has already been cleared, and new soil has been brought in around the equipment shelter, with the area leveled post-incident.

Law enforcement officials are treating the case as a serious act of vandalism and a grave disturbance of telecommunications.
