Nearly 3,000 young adults attend first day of Seinäjoki Tango Festival

The first day of the Seinäjoki Tango Festival drew nearly 3,000 young adults, according to Yle, after organisers offered free entry to under-25s in a bid to shed the event’s reputation as an older crowd’s gathering.

Festival director Pasi Ojala said the opening day was a success, with good weather and strong attendance. He noted the number of young attendees was significantly higher than last year.

Ojala did not provide total visitor figures for Thursday, stating that final numbers would be released after the event concludes. He added that if the current pace continues, the overall turnout looks promising.
