Faroese radio technician switched off historic broadcast 45 years ago

Faroese public broadcaster KVF reports that 45 years ago, technician Marius Rein pulled the plug on the old broadcasting console at Bryggjubakka, marking the final shutdown of Útvarp Føroya’s operations in its long-time home.

The move ended an era as the station relocated from its cramped quarters in central Tórshavn to new facilities at Sortudýki in the capital’s harbor area.
