Finnish radio legends Juuso Myllyrinne and Mikko “Peltsi” Peltola have returned to the airwaves, hosting Radio Suomen aamu until Friday, reports Yle.

The duo, known for their early 2000s morning show, have drawn warm, nostalgic reactions from listeners. Many have shared how the original program brought light to difficult mornings during work or study.

Myllyrinne, now based in Nashville, traveled to Finland for the stint. Despite being on summer holiday, he spent one of his two weeks off waking at 4 a.m. for the studio. Peltola described the early schedule as “semi-brutal” for a middle-aged body.

“Juuso has a two-week summer break, and he’s using one of those weeks to wake up at 4 a.m. for the radio,” Peltola said.

The show has revived old traditions, including the in-joke exchange “zuppi zahvia” and “zelvä,” along with music and segments from their original era. The pair said the personal memories shared by listeners have been the most touching part of the return.

Though the reunion was not intended as pure nostalgia, the response has been deeply sentimental. Myllyrinne and Peltola have not ruled out future appearances, calling this week a “human experiment.”

“Let’s see if we’re asked back next summer,” Myllyrinne said.

A podcast featuring the duo, Peltsi & Juuso Zuppi Zahvia, will be available on Yle Areena starting July 9.
