A newly formed oil company, Thomsen, has secured a contract to supply heating oil to Faroese government buildings, as well as Landsverk’s asphalt plant and bitumen storage facilities.

The agreement covers 1.5 million litres annually, though demand is expected to decline as the transition to green energy progresses. Thomsen won the tender with the lowest bid.

Landsverk, the Faroese public works authority, signed the ISO-certified contract, stating its aim was to maximise value for public funds while supporting the Orkutøk project, which seeks to reduce energy consumption and shift government buildings toward renewable energy sources.
