Runavík will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its annual Laksatorgið festival this Saturday, according to a report by Faroese broadcaster KVF.

The event, deeply tied to the local salmon industry and hosted by Runavík municipality and Visit Runavík, has grown into a major community gathering. This year, it moves from the town center to Bakka on Glyvrar, the home of salmon producer Bakkafrost.

Organizers promise a day of free entertainment for all ages, including a large market, diverse food offerings, live music, and activities both on land and at sea. Bakkafrost will also open its facilities and vessels to the public. The festival runs from 10:00 to 16:00.

Further details are available on the Laksatorgið Facebook page.
