Police in North Savo are continuing to investigate a collision between a passenger car and a van last week in Lapinlahti’s Alapitkä, which left three people injured, Yle reports.
The passenger car, arriving from the direction of Kuopio, and the van, coming from Lapinlahti, collided on Viitostie, partially closing the road. Two occupants were in the passenger car and one in the van.
Authorities suspect the passenger car driver of aggravated endangerment of traffic safety. Investigators are determining why the car veered into the oncoming lane. The speed limit at the site is 80 km/h.
Several people, including the driver from Kuopio, have yet to be interviewed, according to Detective Inspector Tiina Borg of the Eastern Finland Police Department.
