A Helsinki beauty clinic operated by Nordicshape Helsinki Oy has been ordered to immediately halt all healthcare services after regulators found serious patient safety violations, Finland’s Licensing and Supervision Authority (Valvira) announced.
An unannounced inspection on 29 June uncovered multiple breaches in the clinic’s medical practices, including botulinum toxin treatments performed by nurses without individual prescriptions or prior physician assessments of patient suitability.
Investigators also identified irregularities in medication procurement, with Valvira noting that drugs obtained from pharmacies under personal prescriptions may only be used by the named patient. Additionally, the clinic was using laser and HIFU devices with unverified compliance, and a damaged electric heating pad with exposed wiring posed a direct safety hazard.
Nordicshape Helsinki Oy has previously filed for bankruptcy for its Espoo branch.
