Faroese ornithologist calls for temporary puffin protection

This year marks the worst puffin season in living memory, according to Faroese ornithologist Jens-Kjeld Jensen, who told Kringvarp Føroya that other seabirds, including terns and guillemots, are also faring poorly.

Jensen proposed a temporary hunting ban on puffins for several years to allow populations to recover.
