The Faroese Association of Civil Engineers and the Faroese Association of Engineers have demanded the government provide clear justification for its plan to dismantle the construction planning department at Landsverk, the national public works agency.
Sigrið Jensdóttir Dalsgaard, a committee member of the Faroese Association of Engineers, told public broadcaster KVF that transferring the agency’s construction oversight duties to government officials would be difficult due to the volume of work and limited staff.
She argued that Landsverk’s professional expertise is unique and should not be dismantled hastily.
