Copenhagen has once more been ranked as the world’s best city to live in, according to the latest Global Liveability Index by The Economist Intelligence Unit, as reported by BBC.
The index evaluates 173 cities worldwide based on stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure. This year, Copenhagen achieved top scores in stability, education, and infrastructure, while also ranking among the highest for culture and environment.
Laura Amira Kassem, a PhD student who has lived in Copenhagen for eight years, told BBC that cycling to work, swimming in the harbour, and returning home for dinner is “not a special day, just an ordinary Tuesday in Copenhagen.” She also highlighted running in Utterslev Mose, Fælledparken, and by the lakes, as well as the diversity of Nørrebro, where greengrocers, kebab shops, and jewellery stores coexist with sourdough bakeries and natural wine bars.
Vienna shares second place with Copenhagen, while Melbourne ranks third, Sydney fourth, and Zurich fifth.
