Rain and thunderstorms expected across much of Finland on Sunday

Unsettled weather will persist across southern and central Finland on Sunday, with rain and thunderstorms expected in many areas, according to the Finnish Meteorological Institute.

Northern Finland and Lapland will remain drier and sunnier, with temperatures locally exceeding 20°C. In the south and central regions, temperatures will mostly stay between 15°C and 20°C.

Heavy rain warnings are in effect for Uusimaa, Päijät-Häme, and Kymenlaakso from 14:00 to 22:00 on Sunday. On Saturday, record thunderstorm activity led to heavy downpours and flooding, particularly in the Helsinki metropolitan area.
