A 24-year-old American man has been charged with assaulting a police officer after biting him in the forearm at Copenhagen Airport, Danish public broadcaster DR reports.
The officer was attempting to wake the man, who was sleeping in the departure hall. The bite drew blood and left visible teeth marks, according to special prosecutor Jack Hurup of Copenhagen Police.
The American, who was in transit and reportedly intoxicated, does not recall the incident. He was remanded in custody for 11 days after a court hearing. During questioning, he acknowledged the severity of the injury after being shown photographs of the bite marks.
