Fifteen-year-old Philip Ternstrøm Hyldtoft became Danish U19 road cycling champion on Sunday, reports DR.

He trains 14 to 16 hours a week, even on school days and during holidays. His bike travels with him on family trips abroad.

His dedication means missing social events with classmates, as races often fall on weekends when parties are held.

Despite competing against riders up to three years older, he won the national title. He will wear the champion’s jersey next season as a junior rider.

His long-term ambition is to race in the Tour de France.
