Copenhagen caretaker dies after balcony accident

A 72-year-old caretaker died after falling from a French balcony on Frederikssundsvej in Copenhagen on Friday, police confirmed to Ritzau on Saturday morning.

The man was reported in critical condition following the accident, in which the balcony either collapsed or gave way as he stood on it or leaned against the railing.

Authorities have notified the man’s next of kin. A structural engineer will inspect the building’s remaining balconies on Monday to determine the cause of the accident.
