Police in Oulu are still searching for a cyclist suspected of stabbing four people with foreign backgrounds in separate incidents, Yle reports.

The latest attack occurred last Friday in the Kaukovainio district, where a cyclist stabbed a foreign-born pedestrian. Authorities have received over 100 tips from the public and are reviewing extensive surveillance footage.

The suspect is described as a younger man, estimated to be between 20 and 35 years old. He was riding a so-called “granny bike,” favoring his left leg in a noticeable manner, and wore a cap and a collared shirt at the time of the attacks.

Chief Inspector Petri Savela confirmed that police have interviewed dozens of individuals based on the tips but declined to specify whether any of them are the primary suspect.

“We are investigating the involvement of each person interviewed. At this stage, I cannot provide further details,” Savela said.

The incidents this year include three stabbings and one other violent assault, all targeting people with foreign backgrounds. Last year, one similar case was recorded. The attacks are being investigated as three counts of attempted murder, one count of aggravated assault, and one count of aggravated criminal damage.
