The Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) warns of storm-force wind gusts along the Jutland west coast, the Zealand north coast, and on Bornholm, with the strongest winds expected early Friday.
Winds from the west and northwest will bring steady to strong gales and powerful gusts, with coastal areas seeing near-gale conditions. The gusts may reach storm force in the specified regions, particularly in the early hours of Friday, DMI reported Thursday evening.
The wind will gradually ease Friday evening and overnight into Saturday, but until then, DMI advises securing loose items such as hats, glasses, tents, and trampolines.
Midt- og Vestsjælland Police have also issued a warning for the northwest Zealand area, cautioning that the gusts could dislodge roof tiles, snap large branches, or topple trees, potentially blocking roads and rail lines. There is also a risk that bridges may need to close to traffic, the police stated.
The warning is in effect from 02:00 to 08:00 on Friday, according to the police, who cited DMI forecasts. The harsh weather, including cool showers, is attributed to a low-pressure system passing north of Denmark and moving eastward, DMI meteorologists said.
