New 2.5 km roller-skiing track opens in Rovaniemi

A new 2.5 km roller-skiing track has opened in Rovaniemi’s Ounasvaara, featuring steep climbs and descents that push skiers to speeds of up to 50 km/h, reports Yle.

The challenging profile makes it one of only a few tracks in Finland suited for elite athletes. Young competitive skiers, including Lumia Nurmela and Erkka Petrelius, have already praised the route, which is not recommended for beginners.
