Police in Tampere used a drone to locate and capture a wanted fugitive who had evaded authorities for six months, Yle reports.

The man, subject of a nationwide arrest warrant, was initially cornered by a patrol in a property in western Tampere on Wednesday evening. Suspecting he had fled upon spotting the officers, police expanded the search using a drone.

About an hour later, the drone detected the man hiding in tall grass. The drone operator guided the patrol to the location, where he was apprehended. He was then taken to serve a 1.5-year prison sentence.
