Deadline extended for protests against special zoning plan

The deadline for submitting objections and comments on the proposed amendment to the special zoning plan for the area north of Kringvarpið and Norðurlandahúsið in Tórshavn has been extended to 1 August, reports Kringvarp Føroya. The previous deadline was 18 June.
Tórshavn municipality received five consultation responses, from a local resident, the national road authority Landsverk, and the Forest and Nature Agency.
The proposed amendment covers residential construction in three buildings, with plans for 84 apartments in the development, to be named Ternutún. The city council approved the amendment on 30 April. A public meeting on the proposed changes was held last year.
