Vapaavuori to address Helsinki Garden arena role on Yle A-studio

Jan Vapaavuori, chair of the Helsinki Garden project board and former National Coalition Party minister, will appear on Yle’s A-studio at 21:05 to respond to allegations of insider influence in the project’s state funding decision.
The planned Helsinki Garden arena has sparked serious corruption discussions, following the government’s 2025 decision to grant the project €35 million in state support. Prime Minister Petteri Orpo (NCP) has denied corruption, but multiple complaints about the funding decision have been filed with the Chancellor of Justice, and the National Audit Office has taken notice.
Social Affairs and Health Minister Wille Rydman (Finns Party) will also appear on the programme to address criticism of his decision to cut state funding for health organisations and research.
