Colorado potato beetles, along with larvae and eggs, have been discovered in a home garden in Savonlinna, the Finnish Food Authority reported on Wednesday.
A small number of the pests were found at the site, and control measures were initiated immediately after the discovery. The authority stated in a press release that rapid action aims to eliminate the infestation as quickly as possible to prevent the beetle from establishing a permanent presence in Finland.
Earlier, just before Midsummer, a large infestation of Colorado potato beetles was found in Lahti.
