Finnish fertiliser importer Fertilog will halt rail shipments of mineral fertilisers from Russia to Finland after Moscow raised rail tariffs eightfold, the company told Yle on Wednesday.
Fertilog said the increase, which took effect on 1 July, makes the rail route commercially unviable. The Central Union of Agricultural Producers and Forest Owners (MTK) confirmed it was aware of the decision, with MTK grain specialist Max Schulman telling Yle the move came as no surprise.
