A man in his 70s was found dead at a home in Kløfta, Ullensaker, early Tuesday after what police described as a violent incident, Dagbladet reports.

The victim’s son, who placed the emergency call, has been arrested and formally charged with murder. Police confirmed he admitted involvement during questioning and consented to four weeks of pre-trial detention, including a two-week ban on letters and visits. His defence lawyer, Anne M. Evenrud, declined to comment on his statement.

Neither the accused nor the deceased had prior criminal records, and investigators believe no others were involved. Police seized multiple items from the scene, including what appeared to be electronic devices, though prosecutors declined to specify what was taken.

Neighbours described the family as quiet and unremarkable, expressing shock at the incident. Emergency helicopters and vehicles had responded to the address after the son’s call.
