There is growing uncertainty about the arrival of any stadium-sized bands or artists performing in Finland during the summer of 2025. Concert organizer Live Nation has yet to announce any major events for next year, raising questions, especially after the successful Coldplay concerts, which were revealed one at a time in July 2023, with ticket sales starting shortly thereafter.

According to Live Nation, the ongoing silence around next year’s events shouldn’t lead to premature conclusions. Stadium concerts could still be announced well into the fall. Marketing manager Piia Lindroos explained that announcement schedules are always coordinated with artist organizations and typically align with overall international tour timelines. She refrained from disclosing any upcoming concerts or artist names but expressed hope for exciting news.

On the economic front, Helsinki’s hospitality and restaurant sectors are eager for announcements of international stars, as concertgoers are expected to inject tens of millions of euros into the economy. Attendees usually spend on accommodations, dining, cultural services, transportation, and shopping. Research is being conducted to assess the financial impact of Coldplay’s concerts in Helsinki, expected to conclude by late summer, alongside evaluations of spending from fans attending Metallica and Bruce Springsteen’s shows.

Live Nation Finland’s CEO Tomi Saarinen estimated the economic impact of the Coldplay concerts alone could be around 60 million euros. The presence of foreign artists at stadium concerts reportedly generates more revenue than local acts, primarily due to the spending habits of concert tourists.

As of now, fans are still waiting for updates on arena shows for 2024, with speculation lingering over whether internationally announced tours might favor Finland. For instance, Billie Eilish will perform in Stockholm and Oslo but currently has no scheduled dates for Finland, which may hinder the country’s standing as a stop on major international tours.
