The Faroese government will revise and expand its energy and climate policy after the summer holiday, according to Eyðdis Hartmann Niclasen, minister of health and energy.

A working group will be tasked with proposals, including measures to ensure low-income households can participate in the energy transition, the minister said. She added that she hopes the updated policy and a timeline for implementation will be presented to the Løgting (Faroese parliament) in the next session.

The question of how to guarantee low-income households a role in the energy transition was raised by Jenis av Rana, a member of parliament for the Centre Party.
