Vága Municipality reports 7.7 million krona surplus in 2025

Vága Municipality in the Faroe Islands recorded a surplus of 7.7 million krona last year, according to its 2025 annual accounts approved unanimously by the local council on Tuesday.

The municipality’s net debt fell from 64.6 million krona to 56.9 million krona, equivalent to 0.38 per cent of its tax base.

Taxes and fees totalled 145.5 million krona in 2025, up from 139.6 million krona in 2024, while the tax rate decreased by 0.25 percentage points. Operating expenses reached 121.4 million krona, leaving a net profit of 16.4 million krona.
