Signal fault halts mainline rail traffic in Ostrobothnia

A signal system fault has disrupted rail traffic on the main line in Ostrobothnia, state railway VR reports.

The fault is located on the track section between Kokkola and Pietarsaari-Pedersöre, causing delays of about one hour for multiple trains running between Helsinki and Oulu or Rovaniemi.

By 19:00, VR’s website also listed train IC34 from Rovaniemi to Helsinki as delayed by 73 minutes due to an act of vandalism.
